@LAhistory

I started the @LAhistory Twitter project with my mom in 2009 as a way to draw attention to all the amazing work of the LA history community, broadly defined. In 2023, I moved our @LAhistory project over to BlueSky and Threads.

We have a 130-years of family history in the region so this mother-daughter project was both a personal and professional endeavor. From 1960s – 1980s, my mom wrote about Southern California for Sunset Magazine and then worked at the Huntington Library for the next 25 years. In 2009, there was not much Los Angeles history posted to social media. Now there’s so much, it’s hard to keep up.
