Hi Victoria, I heard a podcast with you covering Sunset Magazine. I have been a Sunset subscriber for years and years and it saddens me greatly (well, as far as a failing publication can make one sad) that Sunset is now struggling. I heard they are down to ~25 staff members and the one remaining editor quit. This present staff level is compared to over 200 staff at one point in the not too distant past. In any case, thanks for mentioning and advocating for the value of Sunset, it is a treasure of the West. And, yes, it is still needed. If you ever hear of a subscriber buy-out of the current firm that owns it (they paid only $20m), I am willing to invest my 30+ years in marketing to help make that happen. 🙂
