@LAhistory

I started the @LAhistory Twitter project with my mom in 2009 as a way to draw attention to all the amazing work of the LA history community, broadly defined. From 1960s – 1980s, my mom wrote about Southern California for Sunset Magazine and then worked at the Huntington Library for the next 25 years. We have a 130-years of family history in the region so this mother-daughter project was both a personal and professional endeavor. In 2009, there was not much Los Angeles history posted to social media. Now there’s so much, it’s hard to keep up.
